Everything you need to know about booking with us.

CONTRACT FOR SHORT-TERM HOLIDAY RENTAL

In these Conditions of Let, “Owner” refers to the owner of the property you are booking, “Property” refers to CLOVEHAYES.

The person whose name appears on the Booking Form agrees to take full responsibility for ensuring that all members of the party adhere to the Conditions of Let set out below.

The Party Leader must be at least 25 years of age at the time of booking & prior to arrival.  The Contract of Hire will not be effective until names, ages, post codes and contact details of all guests have been provided, together with full payment of the deposit due.


Number of Guests Using The Property

The number of people occupying CLOVEHAYES, NORTH TAWTON, DEVON is limited to that stated on the website (6). Under No Circumstances may Extra Persons other than those in the original booking  occupy the property or use the facilities.

Children under the age of 12 are unable to stay at the property due to safety reasons.

Pets are NOT ALLOWED.


Payment

A 25% deposit is due at the time of booking, with the remainder of the balance payable eight (8) weeks before the start of the Let. If a booking is made less than 8 weeks before the start of the holiday please send the full rental charge at the time of booking. Failure to pay the balance of rental charges, or failure to allow the Owner to take the balance by credit card by the due date (56 days prior to arrival), will result in the Owner treating the Property as available for re-booking. No reminders are sent out.


Liability

You accept that the responsibility for personal property of guests occupying the accommodation is solely theirs. Guests agree to absolve the Owner of any responsibility for any accident or mishap to persons or property whilst on the premises or whilst engaged in any activity therein, or from any illness or injury arising from any causes whatsoever.

Should the Property, subsequent to booking, become unavailable through any cause, you must accept that the Owner’s liability is limited to the amount of any rent paid.


Care Of The Property

You agree to use the Property solely for its intended purpose as self-catering accommodation and to accept the Owner’s right to refuse to hand over the Property to any person deemed unsuitable to take charge. You must not use the property for any dangerous, offensive, noxious, noisy, illegal or immoral activities during your stay. Causing a nuisance or disturbance to neighbours, unreasonable behaviour or disruption may result in the Owner requesting you to leave.

You must respect and look after your accommodation during your stay and you must leave the Property clean and tidy.

NO SHOES, except clean flat shoes or slippers, are to be worn inside the property.

NO SMOKING OR VAPING is allowed inside the Property.


Damages & Breakages

You are legally bound to reimburse us for replacement, repair or extra cleaning costs on demand. Any damages will have to be paid for in full within seven days.  We recommend that you have insurance in place to cover this. Small accidental breakages such as a drinking glass will bear no charge. Please let us know of any damage or breakages so we can repair or replace them for the next guests.


Owner Access

You agree to allow the Owners or agents access to the Property at all reasonable times for the purpose of inspection, repairs or maintenance if required.


Drones, Fireworks & Paper Sky Lanterns

The use of Drones, Fireworks & Paper Sky Lanterns is prohibited at Clovehayes.


Wi-Fi

Free Wi-Fi is provided for guests reasonable and lawful use.


Holiday Period

You should not arrive at the property before 4pm on your date of arrival.

You must vacate the Property by 11am at the latest on your day of departure. This is to allow us to prepare the Property for the next guests. Failure to do so may result in you being charged a further day’s rental. The agreement to stay in the property is purely for the purpose of a holiday rental and does not create the relationship of Landlord and Tenant between the parties. You shall not be entitled to a new tenancy, or to any assured short hold or assured tenancy or any statutory protection under the Housing Act 1988 or other statutory security of tenure now or at the end of the holiday period.


Electrical Appliances

All of our portable electrical appliances have been tested and approved within the terms of the new Fire Assessment Regulations. As the use of your own personal electrical equipment is out of our control it must be at your own personal risk.

Covid Restriction Cancellations

If the area in which Clovehayes resides is put under Government Restrictions and has to close during the period of your booking – You will be refunded in full.

If the post code area of the Lead Booker is put under Local or Regional Government Restrictions and they are unable to travel – You will be refunded in full.

If Clovehayes needs to close for reasons beyond our control during the period of your booking – You will be refunded in full.


Normal Cancellation Terms

Liability for some or all of the guest(s) inability or disinclination to fulfil the contract for the booked dates will not be accepted and remain at your own risk, this includes, but is not limited to, a requirement to self-isolate, quarantine or shielding.  We therefore recommend UK Travel Insurance is taken out which includes illness, including Covid.  If you choose not to take out UK Travel Insurance, you therefore accept responsibility for any loss that you may incur due to your cancellation.

All cancellations must be notified by phone & email. When your written request has been received  confirmation of your cancellation request will be confirmed. 

The amount of the Cancellation charge which will be retained is shown in the table below as a percentage of the total cost of the holiday.

If we are able to re-let the whole of your booked dates, a full refund will be made, less an administration fee of 5% of the booking value.


Complaints

We hope that you have a pleasant and enjoyable stay at Clovehayes. If you should have any concerns or complaints, please contact us immediately so that we can make every effort to resolve the issue. We value your custom and hope that you may return.


Covid Cleaning

We have undertaken risk assessment in respect of Covid19 and have initiated a cleaning regime to meet Government guidelines. We have undertaken strict procedures to minimise risk to all our guests and are leaving 72 hours between each occupation of the property. We are accredited by The AA & Visit England as having followed and enacted Covid19 H&S procedures.

Please:-

Leave our home in a tidy and respectable condition upon departure. Kitchen items washed/dishwashed, and put away.  Waste food and rubbish put in outside bins provided.

Respect neighbouring properties regarding noise during unsociable hours.

Report any damage/breakages at your earliest convenience to enable items to be replaced for incoming guests.

 

Please Note:-

Breaking house rules, damage to the property or its contents, could result in partial or complete loss of your security deposit, excluding minor accidental breakages i.e. a drinking glass.
